The name, Corvina refers to the great Hungarian king, Mathias Rex who used to be one of the greatest Hungarian kings in the 15th century.
Mathias king was a talented, open minded, highly cultured renaissance king, who provided a well balanced atmosphere for economical and social development in Hungary.
He introduced the Renaissance culture and humanist philosophy in Hungary.
He was famous for his enthusiastic attitude towards science and art. He was European and Hungarian at the same time. That is the main reason why we regard him our role model.
We would like to mediate the values of humanism, which claim the following proverb:
“Man is the measurement of all things.”
